We break down stage and screen technique, and prepare you for professional work.
7 WEEKLY SESSIONS
To expand your actor's toolbox for maximum industry readiness in theatre, TV and film.
ELITE PEERS, ELITE COACHES
ALT. Club is via application only. Train with equally motivated and experienced professionals.
Our coaches are all industry-leading practitioners.
In 7 weekly sessions, you will get:

Guidance on self-taping, textual analysis and improvisation, all focused on naturalism.

Expert advice from founder Toby Clarke’s own style of acting coaching, drawing from his hands-on experience working with HBO, Channel 4, BBC, ITV, Disney+.

Masterclasses with leading industry professionals, such as Casting Directors, Agents, Directors. Previous and regular coaches include The Artists Partnership, Intertalent, Shaheen Baig Casting and Amy Jackson Casting.
By being part of ALT.'s community of 400+ members, you will get access to exclusive drop-in sessions, showreels, and showcase opportunities.

ALT. Actor Training was founded by Toby Clarke in 2016 and has coached actors into professional work - see a selection of our alumni here.
ALT. Club is for you if:

You'd like to brush up on your stage and screen technique to stand out in auditions and on set.

You need guidance navigating the industry (self-tapes, auditions etc.)
ALT. Club is open to all levels of experience. All you need to do is fill out an application form.

We are accepting applications for the terms below:
(please note you will best benefit from the course if you do not miss more than 1 session)
Spring 2026 - Fee: £425
Group A - Wednesdays (23 March - 6 May 2026) at Southwark Playhouse Elephant
Group B - Saturdays (26 March - 9 May 2026) at Southwark Playhouse Borough
The fee is payable in 2 instalments.
The first, non-refundable instalment of £200 will be required to secure your place once you've been notified.
